Student Book Review of the Week!

Hope you are ready for this weeks student book review!

Title: Inkheart
By: Cornelia Funke
Meggie didn't know her father, who she calls Mo, had a magical gift. His gift is that he can read stuff in and out of books. A long time ago Mo had read his wife (Meggie's mother) into the book Inkheart and brought out three characters: Dustfinger, Capicorn, and Basta. These men come back into their lives and Meggie's and Mo's lives will never be the same.
I loved the book because it is magical and full of adventure. I can't wait to read the next one!

Weekly Student Book Review.

This weeks student book review!

Title: The Juvie Three
By: Gordon Korman
There are three kids; each one has his own story about how innocent or guilty he is. One man gets them out of jail and into a "half-home" for which they are thankful. Then everything goes wrong, the man forgets who he is and what he is doing. Their lives could be ruined, can they save his memory in time?
I liked the book because it shows how one person can make a big difference.

National Poetry Month.

April is National Poetry Month! Will you celebrate by reading a poem? How about writing one? Or maybe even creating one with book spines? Celebrate words and creative expression all month!

One of my favorite ways to read poetry is as a complete story in novels in verse. Here are some you may enjoy that are right here in our library:
Love That Dog and Hate That Cat by Sharon Creech.
Crossing stones by Helen Frost.
All the Broken Pieces by Ann E. Burg.

Because I am furniture by Thalia Chaltas.
Unlocked by Ryan G. Van Cleave.
Shark girl by  Kelly Bingham.
By the river by Steven Herrick.
Inside out & back again by Thanhha Lai.

Remember--much poetry was written to be read aloud, so try reading some out loud, or gather a circle of your friends to read to each other!
Explore the power of words!
Express yourself!
Happy National Poetry Month!

Student Book Review.

In celebration of School Library Month I am posting a student book review every week. Maybe you will see a book you would like to read.

Title: Halt's Peril
By: John Flanagan
The main characters in this book are Halt, Will, and Horace. They are trying to stop a cult of criminals from taking valuables from innocent people. The leader of the cult has also murdered the king of another country. Along the way Halt is wounded by a poison arrow. Will has to make a decision that will determine whether Halt lives or dies.
I liked this book a lot. I've been waiting to read it for a long time. It was full of action and adventure. I thought it was the last book in the series but there is a book ten. I would recommend this book to everyone.
5 out of 5 stars.

If you thought this book sounded interesting you might want to read the other books in this series Ranger's Apprentice.
