Argh! Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Ahoy "Ye Landlubber!" it's talk like a pirate day!
This be a great chance t' try out a blunderingly new lingo an' maybe take a look at what life might have b'n like as a pirate.
Thar "Blistering Barnacles!" be great books in th' library that be perfect fer learn'n bout pirates an' sea-far'n adventures.
So "Yo-HO, me hearties!" man th' sails an' head out t' sea.
"Thar She Blows!"

A great place to start looking for pirate books is in the Non-fiction in the 910.4's. Here you can examine the history, culture, and fighting styles of pirates, with details about several of the most successful and infamous in history. If famous pirates are what you are after check the 920's. There you will find books about the ruthless and scavenging ways of the likes of Blackbeard and Anne Bonny.

If a salty tale is more what you are searching for there are books to dig up in the fiction section. There is even a series that combines pirates and vampires in the same book!

So X marks the spot and that spot being your library, lots of buried treasure to be found in these books!
