Happy Haunting!

Halloween is finally here! I saw some pretty neat costumes roaming the halls today. I can hardly imagine what tonight will bring. When all the trick or treating is done, why not put your feet/claws/paws up and end the night with a ghoulishly good book, maybe even snack on some candy while you read.
Happy All Hallow's Read!!!

Reader Beware...

The Fall season is in full swing and Halloween is coming up so it is a perfect time to check out a creepy tale. Like I wrote in my last post there are lots of spooky books out on display but if you feel like being read to instead of doing the reading yourself, I have the perfect thing for you. It is the book Coraline read aloud chapter by chapter not only by the author Neil Gaiman but by other famous friends, writers, and luminaries.

You can check out the book and follow along or just sit back and listen as the story unfolds.

It Came From the Library - Teen Read Week

I hope you all have noticed the spooky books out on display (thank you Mrs. Erickson). There's a bunch of tasty vampire books that you can "sink your teeth into".  Along with other interesting topics such as ghosts, mythological beasts, witches, and other paranormal beings. If you are feeling brave you might want to check one out.

Also the Top 10 Teen Reads have been announced by YALSA (a division of ALA).  Here are the 2012 winners, as chosen by teens.

Star Wars Reads Day - Oct. 6th

This Saturday is Star Wars Reads Day. It is a fun chance to take the time to delve into the universe of Star Wars. The Library has many Star Wars books to choose from. Some that tell you about the different characters and worlds, others that are fiction that add to the Star Wars story that you might already be familiar with from the movies.

So this weekend spend some time exploring some new planets and meeting new people. You can do it while drinking a Yoda Soda just check out the recipe. Maybe fold your own Yoda to read along with you.

May the Force be with YOU!
