Sweet Venom - Book Review

Gretchen has fangs but she is not even close to being a vampire. She is a descendent of the gorgon Medusa gifted with special powers that she uses to send mythical monsters back to their realm after escaping into our world. But things are beginning to change; more and more monsters are appearing in the streets of San Francisco along with a girl named Grace who looks just like Gretchen.  The two join forces only to meet a third descendent of Medusa - Greer. All three girls will have to unite and use their gorgon gifts to defeat this oncoming tide of monsters.

This is the first book in the trilogy Medusa Girls. Much like the Percy Jackson series Sweet Venom also depicts the world of Greek mythology colliding with this one. It has strong appeal to readers who enjoy Greek mythology and strong female characters. Each girl has a totally different personality and set of strengths, making it easy for readers to find qualities in them that they can relate too.  The end of the first book leaves the reader wanting more so make sure to check out the second book in the series SweetShadows.
